Davor Mucic MD
Davor Mucic, born in Former Yugoslavia in 1962, educated psychiatrist in Denmark, with special interest in treatment of asylum seekers, refugees and migrants via their respective mother tongue. Davor Mucic established Little Prince Psychiatric Centre, the only place in Denmark for refugees and migrants from Ex-Yugoslavia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa where the therapists speak the same languages as the clients. The Centre has been frontier in developing of telepsychiatry in Denmark since 2000.
More information about the Centre is available on www.denlilleprins.org Cross-cultural telepsychiatry is a completely new model in treatment of ethnic minorities. Via videoconference it is now possible to connect patients and doctors that speak the same language despite the distance. Patient satisfaction, compliance and outcome of the treatment improves by use of telepsychiatry via patients respective mothertongue versus face-to-face contact via interpreter. Davor Mucic developed this model since 2000 and has published a number of scientific articles. Finally, in 2011 Davor Mucic launched Telemental Health Section within EPA.
